Three Locations, Three Experiences
Each of our Alpine locations offers a distinct atmosphere and set of activities. Here's what makes each one special.
🏔️ Braunwald (Canton Glarus)
**The car-free mountain village**
Braunwald sits at 1,256 metres and is accessible only by funicular — which is already an adventure for students. No cars means complete freedom of movement.
**Best for:**
- Classes seeking safety and independence for students
- Winter sports weeks (skiing, snowshoeing)
- Nature observation and environmental education
**Facilities:** Comfortable group accommodation, dining hall, outdoor spaces, indoor workshop rooms.
**Getting there:** Train to Linthal, then funicular to Braunwald (approx. 2h from Zürich).
🏞️ Schwarzsee (Canton Fribourg)
**The lakeside Alpine setting**
A stunning mountain lake at 1,046 metres surrounded by Pre-Alps. The combination of water and mountains opens up a huge range of activities.
**Best for:**
- Water sports and swimming
- Hiking with diverse terrain
- Classes from western Switzerland (easy access from Bern/Fribourg)
**Facilities:** Modern group house with lake views, large kitchen for cooking together, outdoor fire pit.
**Getting there:** Train to Fribourg, then bus to Schwarzsee (approx. 1.5h from Bern).
⛰️ Liddes / Bourg-Saint-Pierre (Canton Valais)
**The gateway to the Great St. Bernard**
Deep in the Valais Alps, this location offers dramatic mountain scenery and a sense of real adventure. Close to the Italian border and the famous St. Bernard Pass.
**Best for:**
- Alpine exploration and longer hikes
- History and culture (Roman roads, hospice tradition)
- French-speaking classes or bilingual programmes
**Facilities:** Rustic mountain lodge with full-board option, campfire area, direct trail access.
**Getting there:** Train to Orsières, then bus or transfer (approx. 2h from Lausanne).
